چکیده

The objective of this paper aims to benchmark the performance of a proposed collaborative algorithm for the dynamic spectrum allocation in distributed cognitive wireless networks. An algorithm called Collaborative FAHP was developed, it is intended to share the cognitive user's information and from that information select the best spectrum opportunity. The assessment was carried out through the development of simulation software based on the real spectral occupancy data taken from the 1850 MHz to 2000 MHz frequency band. The results were compared with two more algorithms, simple FAHP and completely Random one. The results show that as there is more spectrum information the FAHPCollaborative algorithm increases its performance level regarding bandwidth. However, it is also noted the results are dependent on the data quantity and quality that is shared among the cognitive users. Keywords-Collaborative algorithm, machine learning, dynamic spectrum access, artificial intelligence, cognitive radio, distributed networks.

On Joint Sub-channel Allocation, Duplexing Mode Selection, and Power Control in Full-Duplex Co-Channel Femtocell Networks

As one of the promising approaches to increase the network capacity, Full-duplex (FD) communications have recently gained a remarkable attention. FD communication enables wireless nodes to simultaneously send and receive data through the same frequency band. Thanks to the recent achievements in the self-interference (SI) cancellation, this type of communication is expected to be potentially uti...

Secure Collaborative Spectrum Sensing in the Presence of Primary User Emulation Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks

Collaborative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) is an effective approach to improve the detection performance in Cognitive Radio (CR) networks. Inherent characteristics of the CR have imposed some additional security threats to the networks. One of the common threats is Primary User Emulation Attack (PUEA). In PUEA, some malicious users try to imitate primary signal characteristics and defraud the CR user...

Optimal Distributed Generation (DG) Allocation in Distribution Networks using an Improved Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm

Abstract: The development of distributed generation (DGs) units in recent years have created challenges in the operation of power grids, especially distribution networks. One of these issues is the optimal allocation (location and capacity) of these units in distribution networks. In this thesis, a method based on the improved ant colony optimization algorithm is presented to solve the problem ...

Genetic Algorithm-Based Approach to Spectrum Allocation and Power Control with Constraints in Cognitive Radio Networks

This study presents a genetic algorithm for spectrum allocation and power control, both with constraints, in cognitive radio networks. The models for spectrum allocation and power control with constraints are formulated in a partially distributed manner, then the scheme based on genetic algorithms is presented. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed genetic algorithm-based scheme is e...
